Socialist Creep is Everywhere: Legal Aid out of Control

By socialist creep, I mean continuous extension of taxpayers’ money to all liberal constituents, such as the dependency class, traditional block-voters such as union members, minorities, and most vexing of all, criminals of all types and all social and economic levels. Remember liberals love criminals and people such as Hillary Clinton have been pushing for their rights to vote (even from prison) because criminals are overwhelmingly Democrats.

Here is how it works. A person arrested for anything from a misdemeanor to murder, is asked if he needs a publically funded lawyer. If the answer is yes, he is asked to swear so on an affidavit. But here is the socialism part. The affidavit is never checked. The excuse is that checking is too expensive. Modern software can make the income/asset check for a few dollars per person. Even is a small county in Arizona, the free lawyer costs can be 10’s of millions of dollars. So hundreds to 10’s of thousands of dollars worth of free legal representation is provided to those who ask for it. In the case of Pima County, AZ this has included an MD with insurance covering his costs and an heiress with large monthly income from her estate. By the way, lawyer fees vary regionally and with the length and complexity of the case. But in Pima County serious criminal charges usually require the defendant to pay an initial fee of $10,000 - $15,000 to retain a criminal lawyer. Costs can balloon much beyond the retainer for a difficult case. But, the defendant pays only a fraction of these costs if he claims to be unable to hire an attorney. Then, the taxpayers pick up the costs. Even for rich doctors and rich heiresses. source.

Those charged with misdemeanors either pay nothing or $350 and taxpayers pay the remainder of the lawyers fee for the defendants.

A complex system is used for felonies. Those charged with a felony are not supposed to get a free lawyer. Depending upon income level and seriousness of the crime (up to 2nd degree murder) defendants with incomes less than 133% of the poverty level are supposed to pay $400 of their attorney fees. From 133% to 266% of the poverty level defendants are supposed to pay $800 for lower felonies and $3000 for higher felonies up to and including rape and 2nd degree murder. First degree murder (often called capital homicide, pre-meditated murder, etc.) defendants are usually charged $400 for their attorney fees with the rest paid by the taxpayers. Under this system, those with incomes of $49 to $98 thousand per year pay either $800 or $3000 depending on the seriousness of the crime, taxpayers pay the remainder. In practice, judges usually waive the fees for those convicted. Those with incomes over $98,447 must find and pay their own lawyers. I know this all sounds confusing—it is. Why is Such Nonsense Happening?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t see why anyone who is arrested and prosecuted should be defended using taxpayers’ money. I especially don’t see why people who may be millionaires should be defended with taxpayers’ money. In any event, this another case of liberal (left wing radicals, socialists, and communists) politicians, judges, and bureaucrats using taxpayer funds to solidify their political base.

Justice has nothing to do with it. Otherwise they would verify the claims (again for a few dollars) of those seeking free lawyers at taxpayers’ expense and make the funds stretch further. Or, maybe part of the millions of dollars in savings could be put to good use helping the criminals’ victims recover from their shattered lives.

Again, this is a case of the “rich” (greater income than $98,447 per year) paying their own lawyers fees unless they claim a lesser income. If they do, their income is not checked and they too get lawyers paid by the taxpayers. There is no credible excuse for not checking defendants’ incomes. Why pay millions to give defendants free lawyers when available software with something like $30,000 initial investment and a few dollars per defendant could verify whether or not a defendant can afford to pay his own lawyer?

Why? Because liberals run our court systems now and they want more voters. Why? Because trial lawyers are one of the biggest donor groups to the Democrat Party and they are getting their payoff—lots of civil litigation and taxpayer money for criminal defense lawyers--$26 million in one county. These abuses are most likely occurring in every county in America. Imagine the taxpayer costs and trial lawyers’ bonanza nation-wide.

Finally, Arizona like many states is in financial trouble. The deficits are affecting education, fire and police protection, and other essentials while over 26 million dollars a year are spent giving defendants free attorneys at taxpayer expense. I bet that 26 million dollars could have provided a dandy start on constructing a new prison, helped our schools, fire, and police, or provided taxpayer relief.

In case you are worried about the illegal invaders who commit additional crimes (yes, Janet Napolitano, illegal entry to our country is a crime) getting their share of taxpayers’ money, there are additional federal government programs to take better care of those criminals with additional federal taxpayer funded assistance.

Janet Napolitano Unfit for Public Office

You all know about Sec. of the Dept. of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano’s memo attacking veterans, those opposed to abortions, those who support the US Constitution, those who demonstrate for redress of grievance, etc. as terrorists or potential terrorists. This is a policy of DHS she quickly backpedaled on but probably still believes.

Her big mouth, incompetence, and her lack of intelligence and understanding has landed her in trouble again. This time for saying the 9/11 terrorists came to the US across the Canadian border. Source.

Can someone please tell us how U. S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano got her job? She appears to be about as knowledgeable about border issues as a late-night radio call-in yahoo.

In an interview broadcast Monday on the CBC, Ms. Napolitano attempted to justify her call for stricter border security on the premise that "suspected or known terrorists" have entered the U. S. across the Canadian border, including the perpetrators of the 9/11 attack.

All the 9/11 terrorists, of course, entered the United States directly from overseas. The notion that some arrived via Canada is a myth that briefly popped up in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, and was then quickly debunked.

Informed of her error, Ms. Napolitano blustered: "I can't talk to that. I can talk about the future. And here's the future. The future is we have borders."

Just what does that mean, exactly?

Answers to the Editorial Board’s Questions

1) To the first question: How did she get her job?

The answer is she got the job because of her gender and her sexual orientation. Qualifications and ability had nothing to do with it.

2) To the second question: Just what does that mean, exactly? Informed of her error, Ms. Napolitano blustered: "I can't talk to that. I can talk about the future. And here's the future. The future is we have borders."

The answer is that that statement doesn’t mean anything.
Like Obama, she is too dumb for a free question and answer session. Obama picks the people to ask the questions at his press conferences. After his inability to think on his feet and his lack of qualifications were demonstrated by Joe the Plumber’s questions and his inarticulate jabber without the teleprompter or wide screen television to read, Obama likes to control and manage the questions he is asked.

Napolitano’s Limitations

Napolitano is not smart enough to recognize her limitations. Obama is not smart enough to recognize her limitations. But we are, and it is scary to think such an ignorant, incompetent, and stupid person is in charge of our homeland security.

Many Arizona citizens were happy to see her resign as Governor and leave for Washington. Their happiness was not well thought out, she nearly destroyed Arizona, but now she is in a position to put millions of lives at risk and thereby hurt the entire nation.

If Janet Napolitano were smart enough to recognize she is not capable of being Sec. of the Dept. of Homeland Security, she should resign and let someone more capable protect us. But like all liberals she is power hungry and like many political appointees chosen because of their race or gender or sexual orientation, not their qualifications, she is too dull to recognize her limitations.

The Crisis of Illegal Immigration and Tyranny in America

We all know that several previous administrations failed to enforce the law against illegal immigration. Now, arguably the worst cabinet member in the worst administration in history denies that illegal immigration is a crime (this is a lie, she, as governor of Arizona, often spoke about illegal immigration being a federal crime and thus a federal responsibility as an excuse for supporting open borders). Illegal Immigration and Democrat Party Tyranny in America

The government has been claiming that there are 12 million illegal immigrants in America for the last decade even as millions invaded the US every year. The real figure has to be in the 30-40 million range.

Amnesty means 10 million or more new voters block-voting for the Democrat Party. It does not take a genius to see that this many new Democrat-socialist votes would provide one party rule in America. And we all know that one party rule must rapidly evolve to tyranny. We can already see its rapid rate of development with the Obama Administration and both houses of Congress controlled by anti freedom-pro socialists.

Now imagine enough illegal aliens receiving amnesty to guarantee permanent rule by the Democrat Party (Obama sees this and spoke about it as “..never electing another Republican president…”).

If you do nothing else for your country this year, please fight amnesty as hard and as effectively as possible. America falls if amnesty succeeds. This issue dwarfs all other assaults on our freedom combined. No other issue is significant compared with the amnesty plan to take over America and establish socialist tyranny.

We might survive tax increases, pandering to our enemies, unimaginable over-spending, massive new socialist programs, and other Obama programs if we could elect a conservative president and a conservative majority in Congress in the future. It would be difficult but possible. But, if we have 10+ million new Democrat Party block-voters, conservative presidents and conservative majorities in Congress will never be elected again. The result--socialist tyranny and the death of America.

What Would Obama Do?

Obama released files on “enhanced interrogation” techniques and is saying he is open to prosecution of Bush Administration attorneys, and others, who wrote legal opinions justifying the techniques.

Apparently, such techniques prevented a 9/11 style attack on Los Angeles (Drudge Report linked to this source.)

I wonder if an attack were imminent on Washington, DC and the CIA said they had captured someone who could prevent if that person would confess what Obama would do?

Most people probably know what he would do if it were Boise, ID, but what would he do if it were Washington, DC?

Obama is as Well Qualified as a Contractor as he is to be President

Jimmy Carter, another terrible president and an even worse American helped build houses after he “retired”. Complaints about these habitats falling apart, etc. keep popping up. But, Carter's houses looked good.

As you all know, Obama has never held a real job, has zero work, management, or leadership experience. I wonder how he would do as a contractor and home builder?

Trying to Fathom the Liberal Mind – 3: Power, Dependency, and Corruption

Liberals Love Power

It is popular to believe that power corrupts and that absolute power corrupts absolutely. This concept is deeply ingrained in Western thought and is often quoted.

Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely source.

Origin

This arose as a quotation by John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton, first Baron Acton (1834–1902). The historian and moralist, who was otherwise known simply as Lord Acton, expressed this opinion in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton in 1887:

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."

Another English politician with no shortage of names - William Pitt, the Elder, The Earl of Chatham and British Prime Minister from 1766 to 1778, is sometimes wrongly attributed as the source. He did say something similar, in a speech to the UK House of Lords in 1770:

"Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it"

However, I do not believe that it is power alone which corrupts. Rather it is power without accountability that corrupts and the concept of absolute power in man is absurd. Man as a mortal being cannot possess absolute power. Therefore I would modify the popular quote something like the following.

Increasing power without a corresponding increase in accountability corrupts and the degree of corruption is inversely proportional to the degree of accountability. Therefore corruption remains at a minimum in a system whereby free men grant power to their leaders but retain power to remove the leaders for cause, i.e. corruption. It is hard to quantify, but the length of time a person remains in power seems to be correlated (without understanding the cause and effect) to his degree of corruption.

Our Founding Fathers understood all of this much better than we can explain it. The phrase “of the people, by the people, and for the people” retains its essential truths and power. The concepts of inalienable rights continue to brighten the hopes of man. George Washington understood the correlation between time in power and corruption and set our nation on a good course. He refused to be king and he refused to be elected to a third term as president. Voluntary limits on his power and self imposed term limits placed Washington above any prior or subsequent leader in America.

Our Founding Fathers had faith in God and their inspiration, brilliance, and leadership demonstrate the role of Judeo-Christian beliefs including their moral codes and core values in founding America.

Dependency

This is the state of being dependent upon others for your needs and thus includes the connotation of subordination.

I believe that an individual’s or group’s increasing dependence causes a corresponding decrease in their freedom. There is a classic cliché (and remember most clichés persist because they contain a large element of truth) that to lose a friend, loan money to the friend. Sadly often true. However, if the money is loaned, then repaid and on a future occasion the loan goes in the other direction, then the friendship is often maintained.

This example illustrates the difference between charity or temporary help and entitlements. Entitlements to what should be repayable loans or reciprocated charity bring horrible dependency. Dependency breeds resentment or even hatred, reduces freedom, and inevitably leads to corruption of power. Those that are given something for nothing most often do not appreciate what they are given. Rather, they often resent the givers while at the same time demanding more. Time is the corrupting element in dependency.

The longer the dependents receive what is essentially something for nothing the greater their dependence and the deeper their corruption, decay, resentment, jealousy, and loss of freedom. Ultimately, rather than seeing the generosity of those providing their gifts, the dependents see themselves as victims and feel they are not only entitled to what they are given but to whatever they want. Sadly, one cannot be free in thought or action if one is dependent. And sadder yet, the feeling of victimization robs the dependents of hope for the future because once they become victims then self improvement, success, and independence lie not within themselves but in hands of their victimizers. Thus, the deeper the dependence the greater the loss of hope and freedom and the less chance for escape.

Liberals who gain power and stay in power by pandering to the dependency class in America destroy hope, and thus lives, of millions. A vicious cycle is established and our history shows that we have not found a way to break it. Pandering liberals promise more of everything to the dependency class and continually reassure them that indeed they are victims. The habits of dependency and the loss of hope and personal responsibility resulting from perceived victimization sink the dependence class deeper into reliance on government for their livelihood. Believing their only hope is through more handouts, more entitlements, and more redistribution of wealth—more something for nothing, the dependency class block-vote for liberals and thus complete and strengthen the vicious cycle.

How Tyranny Will Arise in America

When the dependence class becomes so large that the pandering liberals can be assured of election based on a coalition of the liberal elite, the ignorant who follow the elite, the high school-like herds that remain liberal from peer pressure, and most importantly, the dependency class of bloc voters, then liberals will win almost all national elections. This will establish a one party system.

One party with power but no accountability will lead directly to tyranny. The death of the Republic and the incarceration, torture, disappearance and murder of untold thousands or millions of Americans will follow as the tyrants consolidate power and crush the opposition. The decent, free, and brave Americans are not used to slavery and tyranny and they will not yield easily. The liberal oppression and brutality will rival that of the USSR before the last patriot is murdered.

Although the above tyranny appears inevitable, there is a way out and that is to stop the liberals from illegally and immorally gaining the crown jewels they need to establish single party rule in America. This will be the subject of future discussion; hope for America and a path forward.

Trying to Fathom the Liberal Mind – 2: Historical Background

History has much to say about the way a country develops and its national beliefs and character. It also has much to say about the beliefs and character of many of its individuals.

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) is a good example. Born by the violent Russian Revolution in 1917, Christian Tsarist Russia was overthrown by godless communists led by Lenin. Several non-Christian countries in the old Russian sphere of influence became Soviet Socialist Republics within the Russian USSR. This happened in 1917 and lasted until 1991 source.

The USSR, often called Communist Russia, was a brutal dictatorship ruled by a series of dictators beginning with Lenin and followed by Stalin and several others. Lenin and Stalin were the most brutal. Stalin’s rule was characterized by a series of ruthless purges murdering some 20 million of the USSR’s people. About 8 million Russians were killed in WWI and some 20 million or more were killed during WWII.

As an aside, only Communist China has killed more of its own people, with estimates of more than 30 million. This should give one the idea of the brutality and unbelievable evil of communists/socialist governments and should serve as a warning to those who support the socialist movement (Obama and the Democrats) in the US.

The Impacts of Communism on Religion and Core Beliefs in Russia

The Communist Revolution and subsequent tyranny forcibly eliminated most of Christianity in Russia over its 75 year rule. These 75 years gave the Communists more than three generations to try and wipe our religion in Russia.

The core moral values provided by religion were forcibly replaced by core moral values provided by the State. Then, almost overnight the State fell and left the majority of the Russian people to find their own core moral principles. Another corrupt government replaced Communism without restoring religion to its previous prominence.

The Russian people were set adrift without guiding moral principles to find their own way. And they did. The Russian mafia is seen by many as worse than the original mafia and Russian society is characterized by corruption, violent crime, alcoholism, high rates of abortion, declining population, and low levels of religion.

Lessons Learned

During and after the revolution, the early destruction of core moral principles in Russia led to degradation and brutalization of Russian society. First, Russians lost religion as a source of moral codes and inspiration had it replaced by a “Statist” code of a horribly brutal tyranny, and then lost the “Statist” basis of their statist moral code. The results are obvious.

Until 1991 the Left in America was an appendage of the Soviet Union. Thus, it was a core principal of the radical left in America to destroy religion because religious beliefs compete with beliefs in the state and the tyrannically ruler. Clever bastards the Marxists-Leninists and modern socialists; they also managed to make it fashionable and chic to eschew religion and belief in God and thus, higher purposes for man than serving a state, a government. Call it secular humanism, secularism, liberalism, or whatever; it is man’s worship of man and serving the government he created.

Thus, liberalism came to be mostly secularist. Hence the rise of secularism, atheism, and liberal churches which could not provide a strong moral code or a body of ethics based on faith. What they could provide is a moral code based on man’s belief in man and man’s belief in government. This is a major reason liberals believe and act as they do.

In the first essay in this series I described how the first step to understanding the liberal mind was to recognize that liberals and liberal policies are evil. The second step in trying to understanding the liberal mind is to recognize their moral code, their core values, and their basis. Their core values and moral codes are not based on the traditional Judeo-Christian beliefs used by our Founding Fathers to bring forth the United States of America.

To really get to the concepts of a liberal moral code and their core beliefs imagine if your moral codes were formed without faith in God, the Ten Commandments, or faith in God and Jesus, repentance, redemption/salvation, and the command to love your enemies. Without the Judeo-Christian basis, perhaps we should call them “human operating principles” rather than moral codes and core beliefs.

It may be easier to understand the liberal mind and all its inconsistencies and maddening socialist policies and beliefs if we see their moral code and core beliefs as derived from “human operating principles”.

Another Example of Stupid Republicans and Their Policies

At least one stupid Republican who pandered to Hispanics by betraying the US and supporting amnesty for illegal invaders is now upset. It seems he couldn’t conceive that radical Hispanic leaders and racist organizations suck as La Raza (The Race – the most blatant racist name for a racist organization) would overwhelmingly support Obama and not Republican buffoons.

Well, many blogs, including this one, have been saying for years that making illegal invaders US citizens would NOT make them Republican voters. On the contrary, Hispanics, native born and illegals made legal, always have and always will vote overwhelmingly for the Democrats.

Now, dumb Republicans such as John McCain and dumb bankers such as the head of the Bank of America have been betrayed by the Hispanic leaders and Hispanic voters. Apparently, the fact that he didn’t win the Hispanic vote, even after betraying his country for them, has finally seeped through that bony head of McCain and he is unhappy source.

The Bank of America led the force in supporting illegal aliens. As we pointed out five years ago B of A joined with the Mexican government to promote the use of the Matricula Consular -- an ID needed only if you were in the country illegally.

McCain Given the Shaft
"John McCain sounds angry and frustrated that, despite the risks he took in pushing immigration reform, Hispanic voters flocked to Democrat Barack Obama in last year's presidential contest. McCain's raw emotions burst forth recently as he heatedly told Hispanic business leaders that they should now look to Obama, not him, to take the lead on immigration."

It is hard to have any sympathy for McCain and other traitors such a Senators Kyl, Specter, Graham, President Bush, Rove, and the entire Republican Leadership from 2000-2008. Even the dimmest among us know that if you deal with the devil, you will pay the price.

Even now, we have such dim bulbs as Newt Gingrich making deals with Hillary and the global warming alarmists and Michael Steele fawning over Obama and playing the TV star rather than working for Conservative Republicans. It took Rush to spank Steele. But who will get rid of the Newts and McCains that poison the GOP and its chances?

The GOP leadership has not learned any lessons from their 2006 and 2008 losses.

Liberals also oppose the Second Amendment (witness their opposition the right to bear arms).

Introduction – Some Selected Examples

The best way to start this discussion is with some examples to demonstrate that the liberal mind is not easy to fathom.

1) Liberals oppose capital punishment, regardless of the crime, on humanitarian grounds. One shouldn’t kill a human being, even monsters such as serial killers, child murderers, violent pedophiles, vicious gang members, organized crime hit men, terrorists, …

On the other hand

Liberals support abortion, even the gruesome partial birth abortions which murder full term babies in the final process of birth, leaving the birth canal and coming into the world. Innocent babies crying and taking their first full breath are not human under liberal logic and deserve to be murdered. Only the most dysfunctional and deranged people kill their babies.

2) Despite common sense and abundant evidence that big, oppressive governments install and promote social programs and policies that suppress freedom, initiative, independence, and destroy millions of lives, result in the deaths of millions, and leave people in hopeless despair and dependency, liberals love big government.

On the other hand

Liberals fight every government attempt to protect our children from pornography, child molesters, incompetent teachers, brutal bullies, gangsters in our cities, and illegal immigrants preying on our people and children. They love liberal judges who turn vicious monsters loose to prey on the public over and over. Liberals oppose strict sentencing for criminals who ignore gun bans and slaughter innocent Americans unable to defend themselves because of liberal gun control laws.

4) Liberals believe that global warming is caused by man and is an imminent threat to mankind and our planet and that we must destroy Western Civilization to save it. (Third world countries are somehow innocent in all of this even as they deforest the world’s most unique places and pollute the air beyond anything witnessed in the West).

Liberals are quick to dismiss the role of the sun in earth’s climate although it has been documented and is demonstrably the major factor.

5) Liberals believe that all wrong and suffering can be prevented by big government and strict and comprehensive regulations piled one upon the other; to fund all of this liberals have an insatiable lust for more and more taxes on productive Americans paying for all their wasteful and harmful government.

On the other hand

Liberals are cheap. They give much less to charity (time and money) than do conservatives. As shown by the Obama cabinet nominees, many rich liberals cheat on their taxes. And because of a progressive tax-redistribution philosophy, poor and middle-class liberals pay little or no income taxes.

6) Liberals are fiercely opposed to racial or gender discrimination and will deny doing it, fight others who might, and pass more and more onerous, unfair, and unenforceable laws to prevent it.

On the other hand

Liberals, with a wink and a nod, favor affirmative action, quotas, social passes, and favored classes the government must protect. They do not believe these people and groups are really equally capable or they would not discriminate in favor of them. If they believed in fairness and real equal opportunity they would not discriminate against white males or anyone else. When caught, liberals often use the euphemism “reverse-discrimination” as if that made it fair. Discrimination is discrimination and there is no way to make it right or pretty. Conservatives believe in equal opportunity for everyone. Liberals do not--they believe in official racial and gender discrimination that today is as cruel and unfair as the most egregious discrimination in the past 45+ years.

Liberals believe that being homosexual is natural, but distinctions between male and female are artificial and should be abolished by the government.

I am sure that hundreds of pages of liberal inconsistencies and illogical and unfair beliefs and policies could be listed. In fact, with their large volume of public statements, perhaps tens of thousands of pages of such inconsistencies, errors, and discriminatory policies and beliefs could be listed.

Why Liberals and their Laws and Policies are Evil

In any event, it is clear that liberal beliefs are inconsistent, illogical, contrary to facts, and harmful. This is because these crazy things don’t remain as beliefs and theories; they are translated into laws and policies. Then real people suffer.

Make no mistake about it; the liberal objective is power and control. They care not one whit for fairness, equal opportunity, equal justice for all, individual freedom, or helping the less fortunate. Their objectives are to subjugate, oppress, and make dependents of the less fortunate and to force them into permanent dependency classes subject to liberal control. And, the liberals do all these things with full knowledge of their harmful effects (Of course, there are naïve and ignorant people led down the liberal path that do not understand the evil they do. We all know kind, decent, and ignorant liberals that act like herd creatures. But just as ignorance of the law is no excuse, ignorance of the harm liberal laws and policies do is no excuse either.)

What We Must Understand

To understand the liberal mind one must first understand that it is knowingly evil or evil through ignorance or fear. Liberal beliefs are the dominant beliefs of many of the ignorant. It is the herd mentality—the adolescent-like need for peer approval that makes otherwise reasonable people afraid to be anything but liberal.

But the results are the same - real people are hurt and lives are destroyed whether the evil is with full knowledge, or through ignorance, or through the fear of being different.

President Obama Issues Pre-Emptive Pardon to Ex President Bush

Crawford, TX.

Sultry, hot, and the constant whop whop whop of the Secret Service helicopter overhead competing with the racket from the portable generators set up to feed the media frenzy; this is the scene at the former “Presidential Ranch” today. The smell of burnt wood, tarpaper, and strange chemical odors come and go with the light breezes. Armed Secret Service, FBI, and Homeland Security-Domestic Control agents ring the ranch and block access to all but a handful of federal officials. Occasional small arms fire and automatic weapons can be heard as federal agents mop up the surviving holdouts in the bunkers on the ranch.

Local residents said the firefight and explosions went on all night until federal agents arrived and ringed the compound. Since then the explosions and gunfire have been limited to occasional small outbursts. White House Deputy Press Secretary Antoinette Sanchez held a press conference at noon.

According to local residents and law enforcement officials here, is a timeline of events leading up to this massive battle between rival Mexican drug cartels and US federal agents is something like this.

Late Yesterday convoys of black Hummers and Suburbans begin roaring along the road leading to the Bush Presidential Ranch (locally referred to as the Bush Compound) . Shortly after, gunfire and explosions started as townspeople fled to the Community Center and local authorities began calling state and federal authorities for help. Smoke could be seen rising from the Bush compound.

Deputy Henry Smith told this reporter that rival drug gangs have been fighting on and off for the last year for control of the Bush Compound and its sophisticated processing and refining factories and state-of-the art warehouse and shipping facilities. Local police, outnumbered and outgunned, were forced to retreat from roads leading to and from the Bush Compound.

Apparently the skirmishes let to open war last night and early this morning before the federal agents, backed up by National Guard units, arrived in force and entered the battle. Rocket and machine gun fire from National Guard helicopters turned the tide and federal agents are now in control.

Captured prisoners have told interpreters and our own Spanish speaking reporters that this was a war between the Gulf and Sinaloa drug cartels for control of the Bush Compound and what we have seen is final battle in a war reaching as far back as the late 1980’s.

In a rare outreach to his Republican enemies, President Obama held a news conference in Dallas to address the issue of the war at the Bush Compound. The President said in part:

“We are here today to close partisan bickering and to bind the Nation’s wounds. America will look back on this day and say ‘Here, at this place, we started the National Reconciliation process that ended the partisanship and brought America back to its greatness of a singleness of purpose and a dedication to harmonious government for the good of the people’.

I have reached out to President Bush and have bestowed upon him a full pardon for any unhelpful and disgraceful partisan charges forgiving all alleged criminal charges now and forever. President Bush deserves to live his life and to continue to offer us the benefit of his wise counsel.

You all know that I had youthful indiscretions involving a line or two and President Bush should not be punished for his minor indiscretions. President Bush has stood for decades as the main force behind US-Mexican solidarity. Therefore, it is entirely fitting, proper, and in the spirit of our collective society that he not be punished for all the good he has accomplished.

I am asking Congress for funds in the amount of $38 billion to rebuild the Presidential Ranch at Crawford and to restore the open lines of community, cooperation, and commerce between our two great nations.

It is unfortunate that elements of unbridled capitalism and unlimited greed within the Mexican agricultural and pharmaceutical communities have put personal interest ahead of the New Cooperation we have established between the Great Country of Mexico and the United States. President Calderon and I will meet soon to establish a Hemispheric Reconciliation, Re-education, and Solidarity Union to bring an end to the destruction and suffering such as we recently witnessed in Crawford due to the growth of greed and capitalism in our Hemisphere. We will bring new and unparallel hope to all of the Americas".

The President went on to provide details of the reconstruction of the Bush Compound and then delivered a 15 minute speech in Spanish to our Latin neighbors. At the end of his speech, thousands chanted “viva Obama” for over a half hour after President Obama left the stage.
