Trying to Fathom the Liberal Mind – 4: Liberal Crown Jewels and a Republican Path Forward

Living Free and Living in Tyranny

Conservatives see liberty as the individual American living free to do as he wishes with himself and the wealth and property he creates by his own labor and efforts. Of course, that liberty is tempered by restrictions on taking the liberty of others and recognizing the common good. Thus, there is a need for a federal government to provide for the national defense and protect our freedom under the Constitution and its Bill of Rights. In defense of our Nation, the federal government must be strong; in the defense of our freedom and Constitution it must be constrained and ruled absolutely by the people.

Slavery is the subjection of one person to the will of another resulting in submission characterized by lack of freedom of action or of will. Historically, slavery was characterized by one class of people owning other people as slaves.

Modern slavery in Western Civilization is practiced by modern liberals and is the involuntary seizure of one persons’ freedom to benefit another person. This is accomplished by: 1) limiting a persons’ individual rights and freedom to the benefit of the government, 2) by forced confiscation of wealth and property earned by one class of persons to give to another class of persons who have not worked for their own wealth and property, and 3) by establishing a hierarchy of rights and worth among various classes comprising the population.

Thus, modern slavery in the West is more about government subjugation and enforced submission of individuals, about government “owning a large portion of the people’s liberties and wealth” based on classes of those people, and by enforced equality of outcomes by class rather than by protection of individual equality of opportunity. The distinction of “enforcing by class” rather than “protection of the individual” is a key concept.

Let’s See how Modern Government in America Enforces Subjugation and Submission by Classes

First, there is the very fact of separating our people into classes rather than recognizing them as composed of individuals. To separate our people into classes, the government must have the power to separate and to enforce that separation. This requires loss of individual freedom because individuals are separated by classes and forced to remain in those classes-they do not retain the right to remain an individual.

The tools liberal government uses to separate us into classes and to dole our differing degrees of rights and freedom to each of the classes are political correctness and the laws based on it, statutory separation by race, gender, sexual preference, age, economic status, and political affiliation to form the classes. Punitive measures are used to enforce the modern slavery such as affirmative action, quotas and set-asides, graduated income tax, welfare, and formation of biased laws and policies based on the classes. For example, special rights and privileges are given to “protected classes” and denied to the non-protected class. Hate crimes result from crimes against individuals in a protected class but not from crimes by a protected individual against individuals who are not in a protected class. This is blatant unequal justice under law. Unequal justice under law is based on a myriad of federal, state, and local laws. But, it is in the bureaucratic implementation and judicial interpretation that adds ugliness and further inequality to the enacted laws. It is possible to search the Internet and compile the laws. It is impossible to search the Internet and find all of the bureaucratic implementation tools and all the assumptions and policies based on judicial interpretation. For example, for years as a young man I was an EEO counselor and had notebooks full of government, department, and agency rules including a “Table of Protected Classes.” These documents were used to further EEO principles and to help resolve discrimination complaints. I defy anyone outside of government EEO and diversity programs to find a written version of this Table of Protected Classes.

Redistribution of wealth (in reality the forced taking of wealth and property in modern slavery) is based on the concepts that those who work and succeed and accumulate wealth and property through their own efforts are somehow an evil class. It is also based on the concept that those who are less gifted, less educated, and less capable by choice or bad decisions, those that prefer not to work hard, save, and sacrifice to produce their own wealth, and those that are unfortunate in inheriting less fitness are somehow a superior class. And thus, the superior class is entitled to take the rewards and wealth of those who do work to succeed. This sets up a system of modern slavery where the class of hard working and successful people are “owned” by the government to benefit it and those people who do not work and produce their own success.

Modern liberals support and need modern slavery to remain in power and to generate their own wealth from the “owned people”. A necessary part of modern slavery is a large dependency class to benefit from the redistribution and, thus, politically support the liberals who give them something for nothing; nothing but their loyalty and block-votes that is.

Modern conservatives believe in the Constitution and the Founding Fathers beliefs that individual liberty was an inalienable right, the government existed to protect individual liberties, that liberty could not be protected if property rights were not protected, and that tyranny could result as easily from a federal government with too much power as it could from mob rule. Thus, we were born as a republic, a representative democracy. Modern conservatives know our Founding Fathers had faith in God and their inspiration, brilliance, and leadership demonstrate the role of Judeo-Christian beliefs, including their moral codes and core values, in the founding of America.

Dependency

This is the state of being dependent upon others for your needs and thus includes the connotation of subordination.

I believe that an individual’s or group’s increasing dependence causes a corresponding decrease in their freedom. There is a classic cliché (and remember most clichés persist because they contain a large element of truth) that to lose a friend, loan money to the friend. Sadly often true. However, if the money is loaned, then repaid and on a future occasion the loan goes in the other direction, then the friendship is often maintained.

This example illustrates the difference between charity or temporary help and entitlements. Entitlements to what should be repayable loans or reciprocated charity bring horrible dependency. Dependency breeds resentment or even hatred, reduces freedom, and inevitably leads to corruption of power. Those that are given something for nothing most often do not appreciate what they are given. Rather, they often resent the givers while at the same time demanding more. Time is the corrupting element in dependency.

The longer the dependents receive what is essentially something for nothing the greater their dependence and the deeper their corruption, decay, resentment, jealousy, and loss of freedom. Ultimately, rather than seeing the generosity of those providing their gifts, the dependents see themselves as victims and feel they are not only entitled to what they are given but to whatever they want. Sadly, one cannot be free in thought or action if one is dependent. And sadder yet, the feeling of victimization robs the dependents of hope for the future because once they become victims then self improvement, success, and independence lie not within themselves but in hands of their victimizers. And, the government must protect them from their victimizers. Thus, the deeper the dependence the greater the loss of hope and freedom and the less chance for escape.

Liberals who gain power and stay in power by pandering to the dependency class in America destroy hope, and thus lives, of millions. A vicious cycle is established and our history shows that we have not found a way to break it. Pandering liberals promise more of everything to the dependency class and continually reassure them that indeed they are victims. The habits of dependency and the loss of hope and personal responsibility resulting from perceived victimization sink the dependency class deeper into reliance on government for their livelihood. Believing their only hope is through more handouts, more entitlements, and more redistribution of wealth—more something for nothing, the dependency class block-vote for liberals and, thus, complete and strengthen the vicious cycle.

Why Illegal Immigration forms the Crown Jewels in Modern Liberals’ Success in their Fight for Tyranny

No person or organization knows how many illegal aliens are in America. For the last 8-10 years we have been told over and over it is about 12 million. This is nonsense because for the last 8-10 years we have had from 1 to 3 million illegal immigrants enter America each year. Thus, the true figure is probably in the range of 20-40 million illegal aliens living in America. The modern liberals (Democrats, socialists, communists—all the same thing) want to increase the number of illegal immigrants (thus, they maintain an open border) and then when the time is right give them amnesty and citizenship. Presto! The creation of 20-40 million new members of the dependency class willing to block-vote Democrat to maintain their livelihood based on government redistribution of wealth. Thus, amnesty and citizenship for illegal aliens creates a “defeat proof” majority of votes for the Democrats and are the Crown Jewels of their plan for permanent control of government in America.

One party with power but no accountability will lead directly to tyranny. The death of the Republic and the incarceration, torture, disappearance and murder of untold thousands or millions of Americans will follow as the tyrants consolidate power and crush the opposition. The decent, free, and brave Americans are not used to slavery and tyranny and they will not yield easily. The liberal oppression and brutality will rival that of the USSR before the last patriot is murdered.

Although the above tyranny appears inevitable, there is a way out and that is to stop the liberals from illegally and immorally gaining the Crown Jewels they need to establish single party rule in America. There is hope for America and a path forward.

The Republican Party Must Remain Viable to Maintain a Two party System Necessary to Prevent Tyranny

Many have said it and fewer have demonstrated it, but the Republican Party must be solidly based on principles to remain viable and thereby to recapture our government in time to save us.

Conservative principles, based on the Constitution and the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, are in direct opposition to the principles of modern slavery of the liberals. These conservative principles must form the basis of the Republican Party if it is to recover and remain viable. Freedom, faith, hope, and charity, not forced redistribution, are needed and needed now.

We must abandon those in the party who are Republican in name only (RINO’s) and other “want to be like the Democrats” Republicans. Spin, handsome but liberal candidates, moves to the left, principles based on polling and pandering, and compromising with those that seek the death of freedom in America have no place in the Republican Party.

One simple example may help illustrate the need for a principled Republican Party. Most of us have had teachers who had principles and were tough but fair, and we have also had teachers who lacked principles, discipline in the classroom, and wasted our time with unstructured and ill prepared lessons. When you look back, it is the principled teachers who did the most to help us learn and shape our lives.

Republicans should not be like Democrats. They should not separate Americans into classes and try to create big government and dependence classes to guarantee block-voting. Republicans should stand for principles of individual freedom, individual responsibility, and the Constitution with its Bill of Rights protecting us from big government. Individual freedom and equal justice under law for all individuals will support the common good and preservation of our collective liberty and sovereignty.

Next to divine salvation, American citizenship is the greatest gift on earth. It belongs to those born here and may, through our unique generosity, be granted to some who follow the law and earn their way to citizenship through principled behavior, patriotism, and accomplishment. Amnesty cheapens this most valuable gift and will ultimately destroy America.

Republicans can only move forward to effective leadership again by following the principles outlined above and by maintaining the value of our citizenship, freedom, and sovereignty.

Endnote

For more than two decades I have tried to fathom, to understand, to see some logic in the thoughts and minds of what now are commonly called liberals. Originally liberal meant open minded, tolerant of others, and favorable to maximum individual liberty.

Nowadays, liberal, especially in politics and social beliefs and policies, means exactly the opposite. Today liberals are for big government, intolerant of those who might disagree with them, and against individual liberties such as guaranteed in the First Amendment (for example, witness their suppression of free speech on university campuses and in the press, attempts to block talk radio and opinions different than their own, and to prohibit the free exercise of religion). Liberals also oppose the Second Amendment (witness their opposition to the right to bear arms).

What we call liberal today has no relationship to the original definition. Today, the term liberal is synonymous with the terms leftists, radical leftist, socialist, and communist. I will use the term liberal interchangeably with these terms. It would be foolish not to admit that there are exceptions. Some liberals are level-headed, logical, patriotic, and decent. It is the vast majority of liberals I am referring to in these essays.

I've been following your series on what passes for liberal "thought" and I must say it is excellently done. Well researched and documented, you make the case eloquently.

Thank you.

Rev. Paul thanks for the comment and kind words.

As I said in the first essay, I have been pondering the lunacy and misplaced feelings, and lack of rational thought of liberal minds for a couple decades. I will probably never understand the liberal mind, but, thinking about, researching, and pondering how strange they are as I wrote these 4essays helped very much. I am much closer to understanding than I was a few short weeks ago. And, increasing my understanding of things in this world is the main reason I write this blog.

Thanks again, and I appreciate you taking the time to read all of them
