Illegal Immigrants Dominate Serious Crime in Arizona

Background

For some time now Arizona has been the main doormat for Mexican drug cartels to smuggle drugs and illegal aliens into the US. Perhaps as much as 60% of all Mexican criminal smuggling, and associated violence, kidnappings and murders take place in Arizona.

The Attempt to Spin and Distort the Facts

Now there is an absurd, and laughable if it weren’t treasonous, effort to convince the public that illegal aliens commit less crimes than citizens of the US, and therefore, we should keep the border open. The mainstream media, racist pro-illegal immigration organizations such as La Raza (the “Race”), and crooked businesses have launched a campaign to gain amnesty for illegal aliens and increase their numbers in the US.

A recent newspaper series in Arizona is dedicated to this effort. Recently they published an article twisting the facts, spinning the data, and committing outright falsehoods. They made one serious error—they published 3 years of real data from the federal courts in Arizona that show illegal aliens dominate felony convictions in Arizona. Laughingly, they tried to use these data to show that illegal aliens were only guilty of “entrant violations” and not crime.

Here is where reality jumps up and smashes their liberal, leftist, and twisted reasoning.

First, Phoenix and Tucson are sanctuary cities so almost all crimes by illegal aliens are not reported to ICE (the responsible and appropriate federal government agency in DHS). Therefore crimes by illegal aliens at all levels; misdemeanors to serious felonies are under-reported in Arizona.

Second, illegal entry into the United States is not treated as a felony. Most receive the "catch and release" method of law enforcement.

Third, the US Attorney for Arizona refuses to prosecute Mexican drug smugglers for marijuana smuggling unless their load is over 500 pounds (that’s a pickup truck load).
Potheads beware! Citizens are still arrested prosecuted, and jailed for marijuana possession and smuggling for quantities at the ounce level. So don’t rush to Arizona.

Fourth, the data shown below are felony convictions and do not include those let go for technicalities, plea bargaining, or by lenient judges and it does not include the tens of thousands of Mexicans released on bail who flee to Mexico. Again, these numbers for illegal alien felony convictions are thus way under-reported. Way, way under-reported.

Here are the relevant data that prove illegal aliens dominate serious crime in Arizona

Felony convictions in US federal courts in Arizona, FY 2005-2007 source.
Total: 13,425 (100%)
Illegal Aliens: 9,804 (73%)
All Other: 3,621 (27%)

Thus, the data clearly show that 73% of the felony convictions in US federal courts in Arizona from 2005 to 2007 were of illegal aliens. Again, these are convicted felons (not counting those who jump bail and flee to Mexico, those who plea bargain for no sentence or a lesser sentence, and illegal aliens not arrested and convicted because of Phoenix and Tucson being sanctuary cities).

Therefore, illegal aliens in Arizona represent nearly ¾ of those convicted of serious crimes (felonies) in US federal courts. This figure of 73% is no doubt under-estimated for the reasons given above.

The conclusion is inescapable: Illegal aliens dominate serious crime in Arizona as indicated by their dominance of convictions for felonies in federal courts. These are not offenses or arrests or convictions for minor crime, they do not include “catch and release”, they do not include plea bargains, bail jumping and fleeing to Mexico, and those unreported felonies; unreported because illegal aliens are protected in the sanctuary cities.

What it means

Illegal aliens commit the vast majority of serious crimes in Arizona as proven by their dominance of felony convictions in federal courts.

A while back I heard that Phoenix was a bad area for Islamist terror suspects as well because of the ease of crossing back and forth from Mexico and the high Muslim population there.

And the violent crime committed by Mexican nationals against American citizens is atrocious. With pamphlets in Mexican gov't facilities detailing how to safely cross the border, this problem should be considered an act of war, IMO!

Brook, thanks for the excellent comments.

Phoenix and Tucson are, and have been for decades, bad areas for Ilsamic terrorists. Some of the 19Sept 11 murderers were in Tucson for training and at the University. Malvo and his underage lover had a trial run in Tucson and murdered a man playing golf before they moved to DC and became the infamous DC Snipers.

The Jihadists can cross the border at will and both Phoenix and Tucson are sanctuary cities for them.

Both cities are now experiencing very high rates fo home invasions and kidnappings much like the ones that ocur in Mexico.

The open border crowd admits that there are near half a million illegal aliens in Arizona but I guess the number is 3-5 times that high.

Brooke, forgive me for all the typos in my response to your comments. I answered the telephone and tried to do both at once. This proved to be a bad decision.

Less than 1, out of 4, were estimated to have been apprehended.

Anonymous, thank you for the comment and the valuable data.
I stand corrected, Tucson sector looks more like 40% rather than 60% based on aprehensions alone.

I have heard numbers ranging from 3 to 10 get through for every one caught. So the estimate you quote of 1 in 4 seems in the range, but possibly low (more got through than estimated.

This brings up another point, if 26 million were caught in the last 22 years (and if only 1 in 4 caught, this means 3x26 = 78 million that got through)then at least 3 times that many got through.

For years I have been hearing the figure of 12 million illegal aliens in the US. How can that number remain constant when over 3 million illegal immigrants get through each year?

Just a wild guess, but I would estimate the number is closer to 40-50 million ilegal aliens in the US now with who knows how many new ones year.

Thanks again.

You are welcome LomaAlta. I'll have the year end data in about two weeks.

Many illegals, as they have for so many decades, come in the early spring, and go home in the fall.

Yes, i agree with your estimate of 40 to 50 million illegals in the U.S.

Some of those who have come in illegally, have gained citizenship over the last 22 years. How many, I have no idea. Most illegals in our country blend in fairly well after they have been here for 7-8 years. Somewhere around 8 million of them, are working regular jobs, using phoney SS numbers. At least that many, if not more, are working for cash under the table. At least 20 million are in the work force. My username is Buzzm1.

Thank you Buzz.
When you get the data I will have a go at analyzing and interpreting them. If you wish, we might cooperate on a post about the data. You could remain anonymous or use a username. Please think it over and let me know.
Take care
