Security and Sovereignty No. 6: A Threat to Our Two Party System and Some Steps We Can Take

In the first 5 postings in this series, I discussed security and sovereignty, the ground rules, the powers and duties of the President with respect to national security and sovereignty, the number of illegal aliens in America, and the economic impacts of illegal immigrants on America. This 6th posting outlines the threat of illegal immigration to our sovereignty and what we might do to save America. The short answer is that we must eliminate illegal immigration, preserve our two party system, and restore respect for the rule of law in America.

Recall that illegal immigration cost America something on the order of $200 billion a year. This is not the primary threat. The primary threat is the destruction of our two party system, the rise of a permanent left-socialist party and the slow decent into totalitarianism. Quite simply, representative democracy in America cannot survive as a one party state. Let’s see how this could happen unless we change the course of our pursuit of open borders, illegal immigration, and guest workers/mass amnesty policies. The flood of illegal immigrants, from 3 to 9 million a year into the country, will raise the number of illegals in the U.S. from its current 18 million +/- 6 million to perhaps 30 million by 2008. Now, if currently proposed guest worker/mass amnesty plans are instituted, the rate of illegal immigration (drawn by the almost certain future amnesty programs) will increase significantly. And, the most certain thing anyone can say about this problem is that without a drastic reversal of policies in America the guest workers and illegal aliens here will become citizens. Now, consider 5 years or so in the future when we have over 30 million illegal aliens in the U.S. and millions a year pouring over our southern border. The temptation to make them citizens will be nearly irresistible. The majority of these illegal immigrants will be uneducated, low skilled, and militantly organized to obtain their rights. They will be fertile ground for left wing demagogues. With the stroke of a pen we have 30+ million new citizens owing their allegiance for citizenship and all its rights to the radical left wing; they will block vote for the Democrats who promise them the most.

Here is the problem. In 2004 President Bush won with 62 million votes to Kerry’s 59 million votes. Consider a future election if we had an additional 5-10 million Democrat party block votes. At the best it might be, Dem 64 million, GOP 62 million. With millions of new Democrats every year, we would see the rise of one party rule based on demagogues promising more and more rights, benefits, and federal entitlements every election. I do not believe freedom in America can survive one party rule; it has not been able to in any other country that I know. Pandering to an ever demanding and militant Democrat Party left will lead to socialism, irreversibly to socialism.

Do not be drawn into the disingenuous arguments that this is all a very complex and impossible problem to solve without mass amnesty and continued illegal immigration. It is a simple problem and can be approached with simple solutions.
1. First, secure the borders with the military. Stop illegal immigration.
2. Second, make all immigration law violations felonies. There is an automated system to verify valid social security numbers-- make it mandatory. As we saw in the previous posting, everyone involved in illegal immigration is engaged in racketeering. Apply the RICO statutes and treat Americans hiring illegal aliens just like we treat drug runners and the Mafia; hard jail time and seizure of all assets involved in the racketeering. This will end most economic incentives to illegally infiltrate the USA and to hire illegal aliens.
3. Treat illegal immigrants as hostile foreign invaders, subject to immediate arrest and deportation. We can afford to do this and we must. The ~$200 billion a year in savings will more than cover arrest and deportation.
4. End automatic citizenship for babies born to illegals in America, i.e. the anchor babies rule. Citizenship should not be a reward for racketeering.
5. Make wire transfer of illegally obtained wages a felony and confiscate the funds and the businesses transferring them, again use RICO.
6. Institute a 3-5 year freeze on all legal immigration to facilitate implementing items 1-5 above and to give Congress time to reform/dissolve DHS and to write new immigration law.
7. Base future legal immigration on successful fluency and literacy in English and require proof of successful employment and assimilation before any track to citizenship is approved. Only allow those aliens to become citizens that want to be Americans. Restore the “melting pot” and eliminate the horribly destructive “salad bowl” multiculturalism as the guiding principle in allowing legal immigration.

With simple steps such as enforcing current law, using RICO, adding new laws as required, securing the border, and eliminating economic incentives, illegal immigration can be ended and freedom in America can be saved.

Do we have one single solitary politician who would follow your guidelines?..

Thanks for the comment.

I cannot say what our politicians might do under intense political pressure, such as from the President, or in the face of broad-based civil unrest. But, I know the likelihood of more Presidential pressure on Congress and broad-based civil unrest and rioting can only increase with time. Better now than later.

At present, there are several politicans who have stated support for actions like some of these. Rep. Tancredo from CO and Rep. hayworth from AZ are two of the most consistent. But, it is a good question and I will do some research and try to find out more about it.

Thanks again.

As a first step to remove the economic incentives to hire illegal workers, why don't we require employers prove that each employee is legal before they can deduct that employee's pay and benefits as a business expense. If that doesn't lessen the problem, then criminalize the hiring of illegal workers.

Thank you for your comment.
I think the problem is that so many Americans illegally hiring illegal aliens do not pay benefits and do not deduct the salary expenses. It is all under the table to cheat the IRS, state and local governments, their competition, and the unions.

My suggestion would be to go directly to making hiring illegal immigrants a felony. It is already illegal, it is not enforced, but making it a felony would allow stiff penalties that would have some impacts.

Thanks.

I completely agree with you but would add one more thing; our language is English and all bi-lingual services at a cost to the American taxpayers should cease. If private companies/individuals would like to have bi-lingual documents, they may at their own cost.

If employers are held accountable monetarily and legally, illegal aliens will have trouble finding employment. If we no longer allow them services and education, giving birth to children in the USA will not make them nor their children citizens, they know they will be deported when caught and that getting back in will be extremely difficult, there will be less illegals rushing to cross our borders. With secure boarders, if we handle deportation cases as they arise, there will be no need for mass deportation as some people fear. It took a long time to get to this point and will take a long time to get out of this. The key is to secure the boarders and enforce the criminal act of aiding and abetting of illegal activity.

Thank you.
You are correct, we should have English as our national language. Anyone wishing to use other languages should be free to do so, but not at public expense nor in official public business.

You are right on the mark with your ideas. I have gotten so fed up with this choose English or Espanol that I moved my bank account form a bank I have used for 9 years. They started asking this question at their ATM machines and I just got tired of choosing. I shouldn't have to choose. English is the language of all legal citizens and I am tired of catering to people who speak spanish and won't learn english. I believe if more people would start complaigning about this, it would send a firm message that we legals have had enough.

Thanks Again
